A couple of sneaky PB’s we were made aware of…. Charlotte Jackson, F20 3000m, 4th with a big 8 sec PB! Sam Meehan ran a slick 800m for a 2:03.08 & NQ – stunning efforts, congratulations!

All medallists from both weekends automatically qualify for a berth at Nationals in their respective events & of course, any qualifying standards met over the course of the 23/24 season, both at AVSL & specialist meets, enable those athletes to compete in Adelaide also. BEST OF LUCK TO EVERYONE & A BIG CONGRATULATIONS! Stay healthy & positive & we can’t wait to celebrate all your performances in April at the Australian Championships 🙂

Some very exciting results from our elite cross country athletes last weekend in a bid to be selected on the Australian cross country team!

Superstar multi marathon medallist, Liam Adams took out the SILVER in the Open Men’s 10k with an incredible time of 30:09 to book himself an auto qualifier & berth on the Australian team!

Not to be outdone, partner, Charlotte Wilson ran a very credible 6th place in the Open Women’s 10k & is awaiting to hear if this qualifies her for selection onto the Team also

Our extremely promising young duo of Charles Barrett (16yo) & James Cruse (17yo) ran 16th & 24th respectively in the U20 Men’s 8k with a 26:44 & 27:26 – fantastic

Whilst the majority of athletes were vying for State medals at Lakeside last weekend, a handful of AE athletes headed up to the Nation’s capital for the Canberra Track Classic. It was a worthwhile trek all-round, with the following results:

  • Mikki Selaidinakos ran a blistering 400m, 52.62, to record a big PB & finish in 2nd place.  She now moves up ten places on the Australian All-time list from no. 51 to 41!
  • Triple jumpers, Angus Wood & Liam Glew showed that they are a massive threat in Adelaide with a 2nd & 3rd place, with jumps of 1469 (0.2) & 14.65 (1.7) respectively. While Zoe Edwards jumped herself into a very respectable 5th place in the women’s event, with a big 12.65w (2.3).

Well done to you all & your teams 🙂
