BILL BURKE SCHOLARSHIPS
Bill Burke Scholarships are awarded to some members in memory of the club’s legendary coach from 1927 to 2006. The scholarship provides free club membership for up to two years and one free singlet or crop top.
The athletes selected will not necessarily be top athletes. Bill’s wish was to encourage people to stay in the sport, who, for financial reasons, may have drifted away.
The club will make up to ten scholarships available each year. Year Two of the scholarship will depend on the athlete demonstrating commitment to the club and is at the discretion of the committee.
Anyone associated with our club may recommend, in writing, appropriate athletes for a scholarship. The application should be emailed to the club secretary.
The club President reserves the right to meet with the athlete to explain the process and expectations.
