What an illustrious & celebrated athletics career you have had Arthur & if there was a medal to recognise the most committed, caring, hard-working, positive & all-round amazing legend of a human, you would receive that also! Thanks Arthur for everything, we love you!

The third of our three major hosting events of the summer is coming up early next week. First, we hosted the VAL Essendon Gift in November, then we hosted the Zatopek:10 Track Challenge in December and now we come to the third and final major event, ON Victorian Milers Club Meet 4.

Of all five of the Vic Milers meets, this is the big one, as it is the only meet with a Victorian Open Championship event. With a two-event program, this will be the 108th Men’s and 21st Women’s Victorian Mile Championships and the John Higham 800m event with cash prizes for the winners.

Many thanks to the Higham family for again sponsoring the 800m A men’s and 800m A women’s races.

Last year we had 39 athletes competing for Essendon, let’s make it 40 or more this year! Currently there are over 360 entries, so don’t miss out, get your entry in HERE. Entries close this Friday, 2 February @ 12:00 midday.

The committee is working to develop a new strategic focus for the club and also align with the other clubs at the track. To make this work and reflect what YOU want the club to be we really would like your thoughts and views so that  we can reflect them in the vision for the future.

Please take 10 mins to complete this questionnaire HERE to help us shape the club and the sport in the future.
