Athletics Essendon star Liam Adams has added another title to his already overflowing resume; major marathon winner.

Liam overcame a painful foot during the latter stages of the marathon this morning to record a winning time of 2 hours15 minutes and 13 seconds.

Liam’s victory, in what is one of Australia’s and the southern hemisphere’s premier marathons, is made even more impressive by the fact that Liam holds down a full time job as an apprentice electrician, as well as training 7 days a week as an elite marathon runner.

Liam’s win is such a fantastic result for himself, and the Australian running community on the whole.

Athletics Essendon’s (and Liam’s partner) Charlotte Wilson came third in the women’s 10km event at the Melbourne marathon this morning, in a time of 35:14mins.
