An exciting night as Zatopek:10 returned to Box Hill Athletics Track for the 2020 event being held in 2021.
Club legend, Linden Hall lead from about 600m out when the pacer dropped off in the women’s 1500m and stormed home with a 62 second last lap to claim victory with a stunning time of 4:04.33- just 0.13 off the Olympic Qualifier. It’s the third time our club record holder has missed qualifying by the narrowest of margins.
Archie Noakes was also impressive in the de Castella 3000m breaking the club U 17 and U 18 records with a time of 8:30.37. Aidan Roberts took the large field around for about four laps but faded over the last 400m, while Noakes sat back in the pack and made the most of the cover. The club records had stood since 2009.
