Weekly Wrap November 15th 2023

VIC MILERS

The first On Vic Milers meet for season 23/24 was at Box HilL last Thursday, in near perfect weather conditions – for once!! Five female and nine male athletes ran the grueling 3000m distance on offer with some outstanding results and numerous PB’s across several seeded heats.

And we had a stellar performance by Lara Sacaner in her maiden 3000m, who came 1st in a time of 9:53.2.

AVSL ROUND 4

Essendon finished 3rd on the Premier Division ladder with entries down a bit, most likely due to the staging of our Essendon Gift on the same day.

Macca Leith blitzing yet again for 3rd on the Most Valuable Athlete (MVA) ladder which is based on a cumulative total of points scored foreach event result achieved on the day. He achieved a whopping total of 1455 points! Jamison Towers made her season debut with an impressive 1411 points and 8th on the MVA ladder. Congratulations also to Armani Mauriohooho and Mel Foster for sliding into the top 20, with a 13th and 14th respectively.

Our talent is spread across the age groups with many strong performances across all events. Well done everyone and to every athlete getting out there and earning points as well as achieving PB’s each week.

AV STATE RELAYS – Saturday, 25 November

On Saturday, 25 November AV will be hosting the club relays at Doncaster with State medals to be won. Team Managers have been working hard, communicating with their group members to get as many teams together as possible.

Entries close this coming Monday, 20 November.

If you are not competing and feel like a great team day out, come on down and cheer for our athletes running across the many age groups and distances. We look to have several teams entered andhope to do the club proud.

VICTORIA WALK RACING CHAMPIONSHIPS

We were represented in the Female U16 3km Championship on Sunday, 12 November at Middle Park.

Congrats to Ela Uzun on another win with 14:09 and 2nd place for Havana Ali finishing in 16:15. The dynamic duo strike again!!
