Athletes should be aware of some important changes to the awards system for the 2017/18 season.

There will be two main awards presented for each age group: Most Outstanding Performance; and Most Valuable Athlete.

Most Outstanding Performance will be awarded to the athlete who records the highest point score in an individual event at AV Shield under the AV Shield scoring system and has competed the minimum number of times required to qualify for the AV Shield Final.

Most Valuable Athlete will be awarded to the athlete who accumulates the most points across the AV Shield season.

Other awards may also be awarded in each age group on a discretionary basis.
