Vic Milers Club made their way the Rawlinson Track at the University of Melbourne, the home of the Victorian Mile Championships. Lauren Connell and Aiden Roberts represented Essendon in the womens and mens Vic Mile Champs races respectively both running brilliant races.
A highlight of the meet for Essendon was the inaugural running of the John Higham 800m races. The Mens and Womens A races were renamed after our former president and champion runner John Higham. With $250 up for grabs, kindly supported by the Higham family and Athletics Essendon, the pace was on.
Doncaster’s Abbey de la Motte (2:09.16) and St Kevins’ Peter Bol (1:48.01) took the wins this year.
Janine, Steph and Caroline were there on the evening to present the winners cheques. Thank you to the Higham family for supporting this race with us.
