Sat 20th Feb at Adelaide Track Classic Essendon’s & Vasily’s triple jumpers filled all places in the women’s event.

1st Nneka Okpala 13.47.  2nd Ellen Pettitt  13.06.  3rd Meggan O’Riley 12.90

Alwyn Jones 1st in men’s triple 16.49.

Amelia Mazza-Downie 2nd in open 3000m close to her best with 9.31.46.

At the Canberra Track Classic, Caitlin Hawks ran a 59.96 400m hurdles.

At the Simplot Games ( No. 1 High School event in USA), Olivia Gallagher ran a heat time of 11.13.21 (25 seconds ahead of 2nd fastest) then went on to win gold in the 8-lapper, the old 2 mile, now 3,200 metres.

Cameron Searle is a jet over 200m. The Athletics Essendon sprinter clocked 21.46 seconds in the under-18 final to claim the state title on Day 3 at Lakeside Stadium. The question is, will he step up to the under-20 age group at junior nationals and have a crack at the world u-20 qualifying standard of 21.34 seconds.

Louise Mendes broke her own Victorian under-18 hammer throw record with a distance of 57.05m and watched on as Stephanie Ratcliffe broke her under-17 record with a mark of 54.69m
