It was great to have XCR back and perfect weather made for a pleasant day for a cross country relay.

We need Helpers in Round 3 at St Annes (Jun 5) and Sandown relays (July 2). Go to the club’s Helpers App (https://athsessavhelpers.azurewebsites.net/) to put your name down. We also need people to transport the club’s marquee to some events. Let Steve Murphy know if you can help with this task.

We welcomed a number of new members. Molly Bremner, 13 ran in the W16 3K, Troy Jardine ran in the Men’s Div 7, Matisse Lazzari and Rachel Brici both competed in the Women’s Premier event.

The club also welcomed back Mitch Brown and Charlie Blanch. Both ran great legs for their teams.

Our top teams this year are W Premier division and M div 2. Both teams finished 6th. Liam Adam’s time of 18:02 was the club’s best on the day.

Mens Div 4 (5 x 6K) and Div 6 (4 x 6K) had strong wins.

The Div 4 team included Bashir Abdinoor, Lachie Attard, Mitch, Charlie and Damien Bruneau.

The Div 6 team was represented by Danny Hawksworth, Jeff Jones, Jannik Ernst and Annalise Jones.

The next event is at Lardner Park on May 22 for the 8Km cross country. This is an individual event so you’ll need your paper bib on the front of your singlet. The first event starts at 12.30
