Athletics Essendon is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of one of its life members, Don Williams.
Don, a high level 400m hurdler was an active competitor with the club from 1955 until the 1990’s. As club president in the late 60’s, he led negotiations with the local council toward the construction of the Moonee Valley Athletics Centre, now the home of our great club.
The brother of current club treasurer Ian, Don was recently made an Athletics Essendon life member for his outstanding services to the club.
Our thoughts are with the Williams family during this difficult time.
