AVSL Round 10

A very big thank you to our great team of Helpers at Werribee on Saturday. Without helpers we don’t have a sport. Christian Knox on the hurdles, Mark Carey & Brian Anderson moving the steeples. At the javelin we had Leigh Tracy, David Jones, Mark Donahoo, Brett Hardeman, Kath Butler, Sebastian Leith, Maria Strong, Duncan Knox, Joanna Margiolis and Adrian Fitzgerald. With so many volunteers working together, no one had to work the entire day. Many of our helpers also competed so there’s no excuse for not helping at some stage.

The next big day is round 12 when we need help with Set Up at 11am and Pack Up at 5.30 – 6.30pm. If you can help, email secretaryessendon@gmail.com

Our club had another good win in Div 1, although Glenhuntly were close most of the day until the triple jumpers produced over 5000 points. Glenhuntly and Diamond Valley are well organised and will be strong competition in the Play Off.

Our Men’s Open team, M20 were top of the state, while M16 and M40+ teams came 2nd across Victoria. The 40+ team again was the club’s highest scoring team with 9176 points.
