AVSL 4 Relay Round

Relay Round rout. Unfortunately this wasn’t the club’s best. We look to have finished in 6th spot (Queries have been extended until Tues at 5pm due to the number of issues). Only our U16M won the day, with U14M coming third across the state. All our other age teams finished in the middle or lower. The club will take some valuable lessons from the round and, if there is another Relay Round next season, will be better prepared. The day is particularly tough on team managers especially when athletes withdraw at the last minute.

Diamond Valley used their Power Play and took the maximum 20 points and now sit on top of Premier Division, four points ahead of Essendon with Glenhuntly a further 7 points behind.

The ladders are starting to take shape after 4 rounds. Essendon is very strong in Yellow Zone with nine of our 12 “teams” in the top 2. Across the state, however, it’s a different matter. M16 sit on top of the ladder while M20 and M14 are in second spot. After that our best are the W16 and W18 teams who are both 5th; then we drop to the M18 and M40 squads who sit 6th.

Entries for round 5 at Aberfeldie are looking strong, so hopefully we will bounce back.
