Competition takes place most weeks from October to February and is broken up into the weekly league competition and supporting specialist meets.

The Athletics Victoria Shield League (AVSL) is usually held on Saturday afternoons at various locations. The club competes in the Premier Division of AVSL and is split into teams via age groups. All age group teams have their scores combined to form an overall club score for each round. At the end of the regular season the top three clubs of each division compete at the Playoffs. The Playoffs usually take place in February and decide the overall Athletics Victoria Shield League Champion.

Regular specialist meets occur throughout the season, giving athletes the opportunity to compete in additional competitions specific to their preferred event disciplines. These meets occur regularly on weeknights at various venues. Please refer to the Athletics Victoria Specialist Competition page for more information.

We encourage all our athletes to enter the Victorian Relay Championships and Victorian Track & Field Championships. Those who compete at the Championships as Open athletes earn the club points which contribute to the H. H. Hunter Memorial Shield. This is awarded to the best overall team performance at the conclusion of Victorian Track & Field Championships.

The XCR series takes place from April to September and targets cross country and road racing runners. XCR provides athletes with the opportunity to compete across various distances from 3km through to half-marathons. There are a number of relay rounds which enable you to team up with your friends and race around some fantastic scenic courses.

XCR is held across various metropolitan and regional areas, which allow for a fun team day out. As with the track & field season, the XCR series also splits the club into teams based on age.
