ATHS ESSENDON PRESENTATION DAY, MAY 18th

IT’S ON THIS WEEKEND – ATHLETICS ESSENDON PRESENTATION DAY!!

Perfect Autumn weather greeted our cross-country runners for round one of the 25/26 season.  The Hanging Rock venue is both picturesque & tough at the same time but our Athletics Essendon athletes showed that a few logs, kangaroos & hills can’t keep them down!  With 32 athletes making their way to the Macedon Ranges, we are thrilled to celebrate many crazy fast times & top 10 finishes

Huge gratitude to superstar Team Manager, Sandra Shulze for her continued tireless work co-ordinating, informing & supporting our junior cohort leading into this 25/26 cross country season! Also, welcome aboard to Luke Gray, our new senior athlete Team Manager & heartfelt thanks for taking on this role 🙂 Farewell & massive appreciation to our outgoing senior TM, Stephen Murphy who not only managed our open age members, but filled numerous roles behind the scenes for several years.

Fellow AV club member from Collingwood Harriers, Marty Galea has shared the following event with our Club. His employer, Snap Printing has committed to the fantastic cause of Tour de Cure to raise funds for cancer research. It is a 3k walk or 6k run around Ruffey Lake Park which is dog & stroller friendly so you could add it to your calendar to spice up your regular Sunday morning session. There will be dignitaries, sponsors, food trucks, drink stations & lots of feel-good vibes so if you think you would like to get along, registration & entry is by donation on the website. You can even nominate a team to help raise funds, make it more fun & have more at the coffee table afterwards! https://www.snap.com.au/tour-de-cure.html

WHERE: Ruffey Lake Park, Doncaster East
WHEN: Sunday May 25th

Some of you may have noticed that our gym at the MVAC track clubrooms has had a small makeover & upgrade with some new equipment, signage & a general tidy up. Council has also introduced a new method of entry into the gym which will be by keypad/passcode to be rolled out shortly. We are asking ALL MEMBERS WITH A GYM CARD TO PLEASE RETURN THESE TO A COMMITTEE MEMBER BY JUNE THE 1st & you will then be issued with a passcode to enter the gym. Please note that YOU MUST BE A 25/26 FINANCIAL MEMBER to be entitled to this. Any questions or concerns, please reach out to secretary@athleticsessendon.org.au

If you are experiencing any difficulties with the registration process or activating the family or dual membership, please reach out to AV or our treasurer, Joel Cuzzi – treasurer@athleticsessendon.org.au
