STAWELL GIFT 2025
The annual premier handicap event on the National calendar took place last weekend in Stawell & of course, all eyes were on the main Gift race, the 120m Stawell Gift. However, there are many others distances contested over the 4-day carnival & two of our AE athletes shone in their own right!
Ryan Tarrant (Adam Larcom) proudly wearing the green singlet, took out the 120m Backmarkers Invitational in 12.37 (3.5m). Ryan won the Stawell Gift in 2023 & has been racing successfully all season. Amidst all the hype around Gout & Kennedy, Ryan held his own among some of the best in the country to take home the winner’s sash. Incredible result Ryan, well done!
Sienna Gec, also coming off a stellar season, was a convincing winner from heat to final, winning all three on her way to taking home the LAV 100m Girls Handicap (12.42 off 9m) following in the footsteps of her older sister, Alicia, who won the same event last year. Congratulations Sienna on your impressive win!
Several other AE stars competed across the carnival, including Tate Jardine, Chase Jardine, Luca Sebastiano, Domenico Condello, Molly Bremner, Max Collins, Lenny Gray, Andre Faure & Hannah Gec – well done to each & all
