AVSL ROUND 4 RESULTS, November 9th

A total of 45 athletes competed across the four Shield venues over the weekend of round four, with AE finishing 6th on the AVSL Premier ladder.  Overall, after four rounds we are 4th so there is still a chance we can shake things up & climb a couple of rungs on the Premiership ladder!

Some notable performances from November 9 include Jamison Towers F18, making her first AVSL appearance this season & finishing 4th on the state’s Most Valuable Athlete (MVA) ladder, followed closely by Ella Leith F16 in 6th & the ever-consistent, Armani Mauriohooho F16, remaining in the Top 20 highest scorers, with a 14th place finish.  How’s this for a cool fact….. Armani is dominating overall on the MVA ladder with a total of 4,918 points in first position, with her compatriot, Ella, sitting in second, on 4,829 points!  Keep it up girls & the state & national heptathlon events are looking pretty locked in for next year!

Looking at the Age Group Premiership scores after R4 & the F18 girls took out the win, with F16 3rd, M40-49 7th, M60+ & F60+ rounding out the top 10 finishes with an 8th place finish.  Awesome work everyone considering many athletes can not always commit to all ten Shield rounds & that’s understandable with other sporting commitments & life overall 🙂

Shout out to Xavier Walsh M14 for his 2.7 second PB in the 800m, romping home in 2:12.95!  Congratulations Team Xavier! Surely we have more PB’s to celebrate?  Please feel free to send them in to your Team Manager’s or to  secretary@athleticsessendon.org.au

WELL DONE TO EACH & EVERY ATHLETE FOR CONTRIBUTING POINTS TO AE’S OVERALL TOTAL & POSITION ON THE PREMIERSHIP LADDER!

The opening rounds of the AV Specialist meets have commenced with both a Vic Milers meet & a Rare Air taking place at Lakeside on Thursday November 14th.
