The annual relay was run on Sunday with Keilor St Bernard’s edging out our gallant team.
The 4km around the “two bridges” course, starting at Coulson Gardens, had runners battling a stiff wind along the Boulevard.
Keilor St Bernard’s took a one minute lead on the first leg. Jannik Ernst (16:01) ran well as our lead runner. Then along came Damien Bruneau, fresh from a lazy 30Km morning run. He blitzed the course in 13:37 for the fastest leg of the day. Christian Knox maintained the one minute lead with a 15:22 lap.
The last leg belonged to Keilor St Bernard’s as their runner passed our last leg runners of Brian Anderson (18:37), Duncan Knox (22: 42) and Maggie Armstrong (23:11), fresh off her win in the Red & Black handicap on Saturday morning.
Thanks to Keilor St Bernard’s for the BBQ and good company.
