Four of Athletics Essendon Masters athletes have been training hard to prepare for the World Masters Athletics Championships in Malaga, Spain starting early next month.
Mark Harper will compete in the M40 100m, 200m and possibly a relay. He hopes to perform well in the finals of each event and achieve a couple of PBs. Mark has been training hard with his coach Mark Giglio who will also compete in the M45 100m, 200m and possibly the 400m. Mark is also hoping for PBs and a place in the finals. He will also run the 4 X 100 & 4 X 400 relays if his legs hold out.
The third sprinter is Domenic Condello who has battled injuries over the last year or so but hopes to roll out with a PB or 2 in the M45 100m, 200m and 400m events.
John Cooper has entered the M65 800m and 1500m events and hopes to break through 2:30 in the 800m and get a spot in the final.
