Moonee Valley Award:

The picture shows Athletics Essendon athlete Cameron Searle being presented with a $1,000 cheque on behalf of the Moonee Valley Foundation by Foundation treasurer Peter Dunn (who is also an Athletics Essendon official and life member).  Cam was selected on the basis of being a very promising junior sprinter at the 100m and 200m distances. Cameron, aged just 16, has been chosen in the Australian Men’s 4x100m relay team to compete at the World Junior Championships (U20 competition) in Poland in June.

This relay team has been invited by the IAAF to run at the upcoming Diamond League meet in Shanghai, China in mid-May

Cam is one of three Essendon athletes chosen for the World Juniors. The others being Amelia Mazza-Downie & Lauren Ryan
