Presentation Night

A wow of a success. 143 attended. AV CEO, Glenn Turnor chose our night over the AV Awards Night to present awards including an unexpected and well deserved appreciation of Barb Augustin as community coach of the year. I’m sure all her athletes who are looked after so well by Barb applaud that award as does the whole club.

In the photo President John Higham & super organiser, Janine show their delight at Barb’s award.

Amelia Mazza-Downie dominated the junior women’s cross country and was a clear winner of the Joan Beretta Memorial Shield presented by Glenn Turnor to Amelia as the outstanding junior women of the cross country season.

Glenn again presented our club with the most prestigious team award, the H. H. Hunter Shield noting that Essendon won it by a huge margin. That’s seven of the last nine years for the red and black.

Congratulations to our club open Athlete of the Year, Chris Erickson who will compete at the Rio Olympics and junior Athlete of the Year, Lauren Ryan who will compete in two events in the World Junior Championships in Poland.

The fourth photo is a bunch of champion Essendon athletes, all state and/or national medals (click on photo to see more athletes).
