Funds from EFC

At a community sports club get together this week at Windy Hill, Essendon Football Club (Sections Committee), handed over cheques to the value of $178000. Over the last 20 years, the footy club has distributed about $2.5 million. Our share of that has been about $200,000.

Athletics Essendon was represented by David Jones (who has been on the EFCSC committee for about 10 years), Club President, Mark Carey and Secretary John Cooper.

Athletics Essendon received $11,163, after applying for the grant to specifically assist our athletes. As such, there will be funds set aside to top up the Bill Burke Scholarship account as well as facilitating our athletes travelling to meets etc. The funds will be available on application and subject to criteria.

John Cooper received a trophy in recognition of his service to an Affiliated Sporting Club

We also learnt that we have been successfully applied for funds to purchase a new set of steeple hurdles which will be compliant with the new height requirements and hopefully, easier to adjust.
