The 16th October will mark the 50th Anniversary of our Essendon EMH, Victorian, and Australian Olympic Silver medallist, and Athletics Essendon, Victorian, Australian & Oceania 200m record holder, the late Peter Norman.

The story of Peter, and his silent fight for Human Right’s on the 16th of October, 1968 is documented in the Movie “Salute”, which was written, produced and directed by Peter’s nephew, Matt Norman.

The Victorian Government have announced that the 9th of October is to be “Peter Norman Day”, in honour of this great Australian athlete and humanitarian, and a statue is to be erected in his honour.

On Tuesday the 16th of October, there will be a special screening of “Salute” at ACMI, at  Federation Square on Tuesday 16th October at 6.45pm, for Athletics Victoria members. There will also be another special merchandise opportunity.

See the below link for details.

We encourage you to attend this special screening, and on the 16th of October, trend the hashtag #iwillstandwithyou
